Different Schools of Astrology

Life is all about uncertainties. Same is the case with us human beings. Our lives are also as unpredictable as anything else. Life is combination of many different situations and feelings. Sometimes we are happy while some other times we feel frustrated and dejected. Sometimes we succeed in our goals and tasks and sometimes we fail. This is how life works for every person. But why life behaves in such a manner. Why is it so uncertain? What is with all this uncertainty in our lives?

Even though science has advanced so much that it can predict about earthquakes and tsunamis. It can discover planets that exist thousands of miles away from us. But one thing at which modern science fails is describing and predicting us about what is going to happen to us in near future. Science doesn’t tell us what is going to happen in next few days or weeks. This is where the pseudoscience called as astrology comes into the picture.

In this article I would describe how astrology originated thousands of years ago and its various schools.

 

Origin:

The origin of astrology dates back to the earliest of human civilizations. It first originated from Babylonia in nineteenth century BC. The notable philosophers like Plato, Aristotle etc have contributed to this field of study and that is the reason it is considered as a science by people. Initially use of astrology was limited to predicting about issues related to agriculture, weather and natural disasters. Today it has become part of our daily life.

Schools of Astrology:

Astrology consists of 3 schools. These schools are:

Indian Astrology: 

It is also famously known as “Vedic Astrology”. Its concept was developed by great sage known as “Parasara”. Several other prominent philosophers also contributed towards this progress and development of this school. However it isn’t still clear that what exact period of development of this school is? Telugu Astrology is also a very important part of Indian astrology.

Chinese Astrology:

Other than Indian astrology, one other very ancient school of astrology is Chinese astrology. As per some people, Chinese astrology like Indian astrology originated thousands of years ago in China. It entered into china using the same silk route which was the famous central Asian trade route. This school is very popular in East Asian countries. But people from other parts of the world also consult to this astrology.

Western Astrology:

It is very popular in US and Europe and actually came into existence from Mesopotamia in 2^nd millennium BC. Even though there is western astrology, Indian astrology is also famous in these regions.
