Life is unpredictable. Life is all about uncertainties.  We might face miseries and problems in our lives at one part of time and then again at some time it becomes a bed of roses for us. This is the life. While life is full of sadness and pleasure, we still don’t know what is going to happen in next few days or in next few weeks or years. So what are the reasons behind our life being so uncertain? What factor are responsible for it being so erratic?

Although science has advanced to the extent that it can predict the upcoming hurricanes and earthquakes, it can tell us about stars and galaxies that exist millions of miles away from us but isn’t able to see what is going to happen in the future with us. This is where science has failed, pseudoscience i.e. astrology comes into picture.

Some people don’t believe in astrology. They don’t believe that celestial bodies can impact a person’s life. I am among those people who believe in the authenticity of astrology and consider it to be a science. This mysterious field of study caught my interest a few years back and thus I researched a little to find out the origins of it. In this research I found out a lot of interesting information. Today in this article, I would share a few key points that I learned about astrology. Today astrology has made into every part of the world. Origin:

Astrology is thousands of years old. Its origin dates back to ancient civilizations. It even existed in the Babylonian civilization in the nineteenth century. With contributions by notable personalities like Plato, Aristotle and others, today astrology is also considered as a science. Initially people used astrology for predicting about weather, agricultural growth and natural disasters. Today astrology has entered into our life with daily horoscopes.

Different Schools of Astrology

Astrology has mainly three schools:

Indian Astrology:

It is also commonly called as “Vedic Astrology”. Greats sages like “Parasara” developed basic concept of Indian astrology. Various ancient Indian philosophers like Satyacarya did some great work on this Indian school of astrology. Till today we don’t know the exact period of origination of Indian astrology.

Chinese astrology:

Chinese astrology as the name suggest originated from the Chinese civilization. Along with Indian astrology it is one of the oldest school of astrology. It came into existence thousands of years back in the past. This school of astrology works on the lunar cycle and this cycle requires 12 years to complete. It also consists of 5 elements which are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth.

Western Astrology:

This school is very popular in US and European societies. It originated in Mesopotamia in 2^nd millennium BC. It was a long time after Chinese astrology. Even today there are several Famous Astrologers in London.
